FSD Interviews Coodie & Chike from Andrew Barber on Vimeo.

Background: Coodie & Chike did Kanye’s “Through The Wire” Video. Clip is long but contains key info I didn’t know like: Dame Dash’s projects Creative Control & DD172 are actually a joint venture w/ Coodie & Chike. Entrpreneurialism at it’s finest.

Australian design firm Ashton Raggatt McDougall’s most recent projects have been to add a bit of functionality and uniqueness to the MTC Theater and the Melbourne Recital Centre in Australia. The two buildings function individually but they connect together and sit on the same block as one another within the city’s art district. The MTC Theater features an interesting white facade comprised of white steel tubing in the form of geometric patterns that have the appearance of a 3d image when viewed at a certain angle. It was designed for optimal viewing at night and the tubes almost look luminescent. The geometric patten is carried throughout the interior of the lobby and the theater is filled with backlit perforate walls that reveal a text motif. The Melbourne Recital Centre is a two level recital hall and is larger than the MTC Theater. On the outside, the building’s facade is made of a white inscribed cell pattern that transfers onto the honeycomb glass window. The recital hall was designed to achieve the highest sound quality possible.

A peek into the fabulous life of Anna Dello Russo, courtesy of Tommy Ton. Any woman who has a separate apartment (in Milan, nonetheless) to store her lux goods is a true legend- in my books. Those wrap-around snake cuffs, custom croc-embossed clutch, bejewled heels literally left me swooning for more. What I would do to get into that closet- or should I say closet(s)…

A recent project from artist John Paul Thurlow entitled “Covers” has caught my eye recently. The artist has remade the covers of his magazine collection. John Paul had this to say about his work.

“This is an attempt to remake cover art for every great magazine I own (+ a few record covers soon). Covers is an homage to the creative men and women who produce such disposable perfection.”

-John Paul Thurlow

Boston-based New Balance announces the launch of New Balance 365, a collection of 365 short films that engages consumers 365 days a year by asking them to think about “the balance”. Beginning on February 22, one 20 second short film that creatively explores the idea of “the balance” will post live each morning to NewBalance365.com for consumers to view, ponder and engage with the New Balance brand each and every day of 2010.

The project, a creative collaboration between New Balance, Swedish film director Jesper Kouthoofd and New Balance Lifestyle agency of record, Mother New York, was designed to revolutionize the way New Balance connects with the consumer and creates a new method of communication with the brand’s audience. Over the course of eight days, the first 88 (of 365) films were shot in Stockholm in a truly collaborative effort. Mother, New Balance and Jesper worked collectively to build film sets, engineer the film shoot and bring the project into existence.
