Ok ok, so we  missed last Friday, which is most likely an indication of chaos that was the night before. But we’re back! This time around we have a photographer from Sweden named Leo Tage. What caught my eye about this were the shots of, who I can only assume is his girlfriend and is subject to 90% of the photos. I’m interested in seeing his collection of camera’s because he seems to have more than a few. See his Flickr here. Few more after the jump.

The Lohan takes over the cover of Purple this month and also has a nice little not-so-safe for work editorial inside by Terry Richardson. I don’t care what they say about you Lindsay, your perfect just the way you are. More tasty tasteful images inside, and way more here.

The pictures above were both shot using 35mm film and were taking by Cameron Hildebrant. With many influences Cameron has proven that he has a natural eye for photography. If it’s turning a simple bike ride into something visually motivating or simple textures into something visually stunning the kid has talent. For more photos please check out his blog and Flkr below.

The Lakers captain hit the cover of GQ this March draped in a Dolce and Gabbana wool suit. The editorial was shot by Terry Richardson. Hit the jump for more images.

Also, Toronto’s very own Drake has a nice little editorial in the March issue. Schooling dudes on how to properly rock a collared dress shirt. Notes taken. Hit ATF for the full spread.

Industry insiders gathered on V-Day to fete the opening of Opening Ceremony at The Ace Hotel in NYC. There couldn’t be a better combo- Alex Calderwood’s Ace Hotel meeting Humberto Leon/Carol Lim’s OC is sure to cause a flock of faithful followers. The OC store will have all sorts of “anti-souvenirs”- everythign from “British Walker potato chips and Haribo gummy candies to Japanese toothpaste and Criterion DVDs, and of course a selection of threads.” As for the party? WWD described it, saying, “where the Opening Ceremony crew goes, the cool squad tends to follow, so a stream of black leather, plaid and fur-covered kids headed to the not terribly fashionable Flatiron area.” The cool kids in attendance included everyone like Alexander Wang (OC’s in-house favourite [and mine]), Chloe Sevigny, Terry Richardson, Olivier Zahm and a whole lot more. Dinner followed at The Breslin- now just picture Kirsten Dunst chowing down on “fried chicken, suckling pig, mashed potatoes and warm biscuits.” Best visual. And, no party would be complete without the music. The crowd headed downstairs to the hotel’s basement club for a live performance by The Dirty Projectors and DJ Solange Knowles (yeah, who knew?). Dunst danced up a storm right outside the VIP area, while Terence Koh, in a self-described “Where the Wild Things Are” monster suit, moved closer to the stage. Contra was fortunate to get invited to Mr Brainwash’s exhibit “Icons” before it opened to the public last week. All pictures were taken by Kamil Tyeally check out his blog here.

MR. BRAINWASH is the moniker of Los Angeles-based filmmaker and Pop street artist Thierry Guetta. BRAINWASH has spent the better part of the last decade attempting to make the ultimate street art documentary. Meanwhile, inspired by his subjects, he has emerged as a prolific figure on the international art scene with his highly visible, pop-art inspired murals of celebrities. In June 2008, BRAINWASH debuted one of Los Angeles’s hottest exhibitions, Life is Beautiful – a massively successful survey of the French-born transplant’s work, held at the old CBS Studios Building on Sunset Boulevard. In addition to his widely recognized, Life is Beautiful featured such larger than life installations as a 20-foot robot constructed of old televisions, a life size recreation of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks and a pyramid made from 20,000 books. His piece Campbell’s Tomato Spray, a take on Andy Warhol’s Campbell Soup’s Can, was featured on the cover of LA Weekly. BRAINWASH’s work has garnered mainstream acclaim, so much that in 2009, Madonna enlisted him to design the cover of her greatest hits album, Celebration, as well as 15 different covers for the accompanying vinyls, singles and DVDs. A studio visit with BRAINWASH also aired on Last Call With Carson Daly in April 2009.

MR. BRAINWASH is also the subject of Banksy’s brand new documentary, Exit Through The Gift Shop, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, January 24, 2010. For more than eight years, BRAINWASH traveled throughout the United States and Europe with some of the world’s most infamous street artists, documenting the most significant counterculture movement of a generation. However, after meeting Banksy, the British stencil artist turned the tables on the only man who ever filmed him, creating a remarkable documentary that is part personal journey and part an exposé of the art world with its mind-altering mix of hot air and hype.
