It’s a wrap and team Canada are the champions! This gold adds to Canada’s total of 14 setting a new Winter Olympics record for first place medals.  Hockey in Canada is like a religion and whether your actually a hockey fan or not, you knew what this game meant. It’s one of those cliche sports moments, but when you win, it just feels so good. Of course there’s the celebration too. In Canada’s largest city, Torontonians (as with the rest of the country) flooded bars and living rooms to watch one of the best hockey games of all time. After the victory thousands headed to Dundas Square and North America’s longest street (Yonge St.) for a party of true championship magnitude. Sid, you did good. Even with all the criticism, I guess this is the goal that counts the most. Ehlife son!

The homie Eklipz (Crown A’ Thornz) has been putting in work with his video production skills. For the past few years he’s been grinding away at this new art form and it’s been paying off. Here’s his first short film, which was actually an impromptu home video (literally – the whole family stars in it). Hilarious.

I went over to Studio Gallery the other day to meet up with Vaneska and get a tour of the Seminal Hex exhibit (interview and pictures to come). While I was there her roommate Benny Zenga turned me on to this cycling documentary film that him, his brother and his friend were working on entitled “Where Are You Go”. I got to see the trailer and a sneak peek of some of the video. I stood there in amazement as the footage was rolling by. Below is a detailed explanation of what these dudes were up to for 4 months cycling across Africa. The video will be premiering at the Bicycle Film Festival 2009 which will be in Toronto for 4 days in the upcoming months.

Directed by Benny Zenga & Brian Vernor.Four months on a bicycle between Cairo, Egypt and Cape Town South Africa is not your typical African safari.En route with the Tour d’ Afrique, the world’s longest bicycle race and expedition, the Zenga Bros. (CAN) and Brian Vernor (USA) make light of this physically daunting trip by sharing a universal love of the bicycle with Africa’s roadside mechanics, sporting racers, and innumerable curious strangers.Traveling more than 70 miles per day, 50 racers and expedition riders experienced the boundless Nubian desert of Sudan, the great majesty of Victoria Falls, and finally the cold rush of the Atlantic Ocean.Where Are You Go captures the 7,000 mile expedition as a constant adventure full of playfulness and mysterious beauty, and is a testament to the endurance of human curiosity.
